I think Shadow wanted to hear about this, and some others might be interested...
North-South and East-West. That was a small argument (the unheated type) that a few people had in the car on the way back from a debate tournament in, er, where was it agin, JCP? Anyways, JCP launched into a strange explanation of how there actually is a North-South direction or an East-West direction. Don't ask me to relate the opinions in the argument, I don't remember how JCP explained the existence of a North-South or how Evan so fervently argued against it. But JCP's explanation of NS and EW was interesting. Click the link at the top for JCPs post about it.
I suppose if you were on a swing, swinging back and forth, or if someone was yanking you in both direction at the same time (though technically you wouldn't be really moving both ways, you'd either be still, move one way, or be torn in two pieces). Strong Bad said that every road trip has an inside joke that nobody else seems to get but that the people who made it up seem to think hilarious. I guess this is one of those cases ;)

Hmmm.... Yesterday I was arguing with someone about what a bad movie is. I seem to recall that "Star Wars" entered the conversation, with heated arguments on both sides. :o)
ReplyDeleteThe last one was an attempted spin-off of "spectre" (or the more American "specter"). It didn't work very well, so I just went with this one.
ReplyDeleteArguing about what a bad movie is? Hmm..... seems that Star Wars came up in the van between a certain Ruth, Ben, and myself this past Sunday. It ended up with yours truly quoting large sections from one of the best movies ever! :D
ReplyDeleteMy brother and I were huge Star Wars fans a long time ago, we don't care for the new ones so much but the light-saber battles, Darth Vader, and laser guns all came together for a real winner with us. And space fights, you've got to have those. I er *cough* hope you were on the "good" side of the argument and not the "dark" side.
This started with a car trip, more specifically, NS and EW, but I can contribute to this matter.
ReplyDeleteI really hope you don't find much wrong with Star Wars. The first three are CLASSICS. The space fights are really good, by the way. And most of the saber fights are pretty good too.
Shadow, if I know F.B. (not very likely, but possible), she probably just sat in a corner and laughed silently over the silly debates these people are having. ;)
And now, she is probably regretting even starting this whole Star Wars deal and can't we just forget about it?
This is not a bad sign, F.B., it just means we love you all the more (or at least I do) as is evident by the poking. Have fun! ;)
